Describe an interesting job you would like to do in the future

I’ve always been absolutely, fundamentally fascinated by the intersection where cutting-edge technology meets human values, which is why the role I would most love to pursue in the future is that of an AI Ethics Consultant. To be perfectly honest, I think it’s one of the most intellectually stimulating and socially significant career paths that will emerge in the coming decade. As an AI Ethics Consultant, my primary responsibility would be to work with major tech companies and government bodies to ensure that the complex algorithms they develop are fair, unbiased, and transparent. We’re currently in the middle of a massive paradigm shift where AI is starting to influence everything—from who gets a bank loan to how medical diagnoses are made—and without proper ethical oversight, this could lead to some pretty devastating social consequences. This role would require a very specific, rare blend of technical expertise and deep critical thinking. You’d need to understand the underlying mechanics of machine learning while also having impeccable communication skills to explain complex ethical dilemmas to various stakeholders. It’s a career path that perfectly aligns with my personal values about the long-term future of human society. The reason I find this specific job so incredibly interesting is that it challenges the old, and I think rather dangerous, idea that technology is fundamentally "neutral." Every piece of code carries the biases—conscious or unconscious—of the human beings who wrote it. Being at the forefront of the movement to make technology more humane and accountable feels both urgent and profoundly rewarding. I’m currently spending a lot of my spare time reading up on algorithmic accountability and taking a couple of online courses to build the necessary skill set. I’m under no illusions that it will be a steep learning curve, but the potential to have a tangible, positive impact on world where humans and AI coexist in harmony is what keeps me motivated. It’s my ultimate "North Star" career goal.
