Listening Skills for IELTS: Matching
20 Aug 2014 admin
In this task, you will hear items in a numbered list in order throughout the listening. The numbered list is always in the same order as you hear it in the recording, but the ideas in the said list may be expressed in a different way in the recording. This task tests your ability to use synonyms and numbers.
Here are some useful tips aimed at improving you listening comprehension:
•Always read the numbered and lettered lists carefully before you listen.
•Listen for ideas, not particular words and phrases.
•When you’ve chosen a letter, put a line through it so you don’t use it again by mistake.
