The Interview: Section 4
22 Jul 2014 admin
Oftentimes, we see ourselves in situations where we need to talk about the future. This is true in the IELTS speaking specifically, in the section 4 of the interview. Here, the interviewer will ask you about your future plans using your CV as the reel-off point as well as some of the relevant information the interviewer may pick up from the previous sections of the interview.
This particular task aims at testing your ability to convey in-depth answers to questions about your future, to put to use language of speculation effectively and to explain and support your actions, assumptions, predictions, reasons and more.
· Before the test, carefully consider your future plans particularly, your career path, and anticipate questions the interview may ask regarding this.
· Gather up those vocabulary words that you think will be of great help when you discuss your chosen career path, the steps you will have to take to reach the goals you have set for yourself and how you would overcome any possible problems that may occur.
· Use complex grammatical structures like the conditional statements to express likelihood of certain circumstances or the perfect tenses to explain how you got to where you are today.
· Use words and phrases like highly, may, maybe, possibility, possible, sure and etc. to speculate and talk about things you are not certain of.
